MPPSC State Service Exam consists of the following stages:

Preliminary or Prelims exam – based on an objective type paper which tests a candidate’s knowledge on a broad parameter (please read our blog to know more)
Mains exam – written tests which evaluates a candidate’s in-depth knowledge 
Interview – personality test wherein a candidate’s suitability is assessed in face-to-face interaction with the interview panel

The MPPSC Mains exam includes six papers i.e. General Studies, essay-type and Hindi papers. All of these are compulsory papers. 

The aim of this stage is to assess a candidate’s comprehension and writing skills, along with in-depth up-to-date knowledge of respective subjects which depends upon the various papers.

The six papers that a candidate needs to appear for during the MPPSC Mains Exam –

Paper I (General Studies) – 300 marks
Paper II (General Studies) – 300 marks
Paper III (General Studies) – 300 marks
Paper IV (General Studies) – 200 marks
Paper V (General Hindi) – 200 marks
Paper VI (Hindi Essay Writing) – 100 marks
Except for Paper V (General Hindi) and Hindi essay writing question papers, the rest of the papers are available in both Hindi and English medium.

Good writing skill is the key to find your way through MPPSC Mains Exam. Enroll yourself for mock tests and take them regularly to have clarity about your skills.
Figure out which are the topics/theme you need to focus more on.
Develop a habit of note-making. This is applicable while reading subject-specific study material as well as the latest information about daily events of national importance on media channels including print or digital media.
Whenever you attempt any question in the examination, map the answer beforehand and think about including charts, diagrams, tables or case studies to make it more interesting and easily comprehensible.
The structure of an answer is very important. It is noteworthy to frame a proper structure including introduction, body, and conclusion and give appropriate weight to each section. However, ensure that you do not miss out on the necessary information.
